Michael Sherman, our Executive Director, was elected by his peers to serve on the CEDIA Board of Directors for the next two years.
After being designated Young Professional of the Year 2019 by the CEDIA, obtained the status CEDIA Member of Excellence in 2019 and 2020, and won two CEDIA Awards in the categories Best Integrated Home and Technology Meets Design Awards at the last ceremony in London, this announcement is more good news for Michael Sherman and the entire HENRI team.
“It is a great honor and pride to be elected by my peers to represent them on the CEDIA Board of Directors.
Since the beginning of my career about ten years ago I have always been very involved in the association.
I am convinced that there is strength in unity and that the exchanges between colleagues, the addition of our experiences and our know-how, will allow us to develop our residential technological integration industry together.
I am happy to be able to contribute even more today by bringing my experience and my motivation to the association.
I hope that my presence on the Board will also increase CEDIA’s impact internationally.

Leadership
Demonstrate leadership and involvement in our association by holding a position involving active volunteer work.
Be able to collaborate and participate in an important debate while being sensitive and respectful of others.
Knowledge of the industry
Master a thorough knowledge of the residential technology industry, and be able to keep an eye on the constant evolution of our sector.
Strategic thinker
Be able to identify industry opportunities and threats for CEDIA, and contribute innovative and clear thinking to the board’s strategic planning activities.
Commercial and managerial skills
Demonstrate strong management skills, meet deadlines and possess knowledge of budgeting, goal setting, project management and finance.

Be prepared to undergo a detailed background check for past business practices and criminal offenses.
Fulfill commitments related to membership
Typically, this requires two to four hours of work per week, plus attending three face-to-face board meetings per year.
